I can't get to bed, but I'm really tired. The things in my head you used to admire. In your sundrenched world, it couldn't be worse. Don't bother asking, and here come the nerves."
-"Sundrenched World" by Joshua Radin.
This song is constantly stuck in my head... It was used in one of the dances last night.. but I'll get to that.
This entry is pretty much going to just be a recap for my memory, though if you feel like reading through it, go for it.
Oh, obvious huge spoilers... so yeah.
So we got there a little early, and our seats were much better than 3 years ago. We sat in the stands, and even though we were kinda far away still, we could see, which was important. I didn't get the best pictures since I had my old-school camera, but that's okay. One thing I learned 3 years ago was that when I'm taking pictures, I'm not paying attention to the dances, so I took less pics and tried to bask in the amazing-ness more this time.
The energy in there was amazing. The bass was enough to give anyone heart palpitations. It started out with the group dance and introductions, and things just went from there. There were so many dances, I can't even remember them all. All the fan favorites... They substituted some people around since we were missing some All-Stars... How It Ends put Robert in for Neil... with the Baseball dance, Ade got put in for Neil... For Fallen, Lauren took the place of Comfort... Russell for Twitch in My Chick Bad... and Lauren for Anya in "My First Kiss" cha-cha.
Gah. And alll the dances were amazing. I'll hit the my favorite highlights...
-Dominic & Jose did their sword bboy piece. I was definitely not a fan of it originally, but they danced it very, very well last night.
-The top 7 (aka, no all-stars) did a new group dance choreographed by Sonya. I looved it.
-They did the "All That Jazz" group dance, which I love as well. I got a few pictures of it... Here's one.
-Sundrenched World. Kent. Allison. Perfection. I can't say enough amazing things about it. This is a video from their 1st stop in New Orleans. But I got chills rewatching it. Teared up a bit. A must see for Joshua Radin fans.
- The "Every Little Thing She Does" dance (the Alice in Wonderland one...) was danced with Lauren (like it was originally supposed to be), and she fit that dance absolutely perfect.
- "Fallin" was great with Lauren. She looked pretty hot in the shirt. Can I... say that?
-Dom, Jose and Russell did a b-boy/crump/hip-hop thing. It was amazing! That type of dancing at its best.
-Billy & Ade's Mad World. Guh.
-Okay. "Fix You" with Allison and Robert. So, so beautiful. I teared up and they got a huge standing ovation. Love.
-Finally... Lauren & Kent did Collide. Much to the excitement of everybody, I think. They are freakin' adorable. And my little shipper heart was just bursting. The little kiss at the end turned out to be.. a little more than that. Hehe. The girls sitting behind us yelled, "Get it!!". Epic. They hugged, and went straight into "My First Kiss" cha-cha. Kent ripped open his shirt, Lauren ripped the bottom part off her dress, and they were off. It was hilarious. They looked like they were having so much fun. After the music ended and they were still in the ending posed, the kissed again. Twice. And he got her neck. Cue people freaking out. Including me. I think I hit Sarah.
There were plenty more dances in there. Close to 35 I think. Sarah and I sprinted out as soon as "You Can't Stop the Beat" was over. We got a good spot in the meet & greet line... (Only to be and squished by young teenage girls). We waited about an hour and a half for them to come out... but finally... they did. Some pictures...
There's more of those pictures, too... They're all on my facebook. But, Sarah and I decided that since Beth couldn't be there for us, we'd make her a sign and have everybody autograph it, then take a picture with the last person to come by. That just happened to be...
Mr. Kent Boyd. I can not say enough amazing things about every single dancer. They were all gracious and very humble to everybody. They signed, listened and took pictures to everyone's desires. They held conversations and seemed genuinely interested. They handled the crazy, crazy screaming teenagers well. Robert picked up a tiny girl and hugged the crap out of her. It was absolutely adorable. Poor Kent got held up a lot, and had to rush along at the end. Courtney loved my shirt (!!!) and told me the full story behind it. Ashley & I talked about twitter, and she tweeted @ me last night. That was amazing.
But seriously, every single person was amazing. And smelled good. It's not something Sarah and I will forget. Oh, and I had all of them sign my Process book. (My chemical engineering textbook from last year that I'll have to keep for the rest of my career...)
It was funny, every single person asked if I was going to get in trouble for it. I had to reassure them that it was my textbook, and I didn't have to give it back. :)
Guh. Okay. Long entry. I think I covered pretty much everything I wanted to. Amazing. Times a lot. Love it so much.
