"Be certain the steps of left and right don't fight the direction of upright. I'd rather forget and not slow down, than gather regret for the things I can't change now."

Ah, new Relient K. I love it.
Before I go into how this past weekend went, I thought I'd do a quick introduction for any new folks who may run across here. (Kelly put up a MckLinky for younger women, I thought I'd join in. It's great to know I'm not the only younger blogger out there...) Anyway... This is me.

I'm Alex. College junior majoring in chemical engineering and biochemistry... though you probably gathered that from my sidebar. I'm completely in love with my family and friends (who all get someair blog-time on here...). I'm constantly working on my relationship with God... trying to become the best person He wants me to be. I'm crazy sarcastic, but love horribly-dramatic shows like One Tree Hill and Grey's Anatomy. Other shows I've recently come to love include How I Met Your Mother, Big Bang Theory and The Office. Throw in some old school Friends or ER and I'm good for hours.
I love music just as much as I love TV and movies, and I'll listen to just about anything. Though I'm not big on much rap. I go through phases... from indie to jazz to soundtracks to hard rock to Christian... but even on a given day I'll listen to all of those genres and more.
I've recently tried to pick up photography as my "creative" hobby. The only other creative thing I do is at work, where I am a barista (coffee shop lady). I also love both of those things.
I'm all about love.
I also love this guy.

This is Michael. My husband. We got married on June 13th, 2009, and it was easily one of the best days of my life. Michael is my best friend, and I can't imagine my life without him. He's also a college junior, majoring in music and psychology. (Aka, the complete other end of the spectrum from engineering.) We met and started dating in high school, and haven't looked back since.
He loves fully. He tries to spoil me whenever he can, and would do anything for me. (I try not to abuse it.) When he's not playing in one of the bazillion music groups he's in, he loves playing video games. I'm learning he's competitive and a bit of a perfectionist, but hey, doesn't one of us have to be? I love him with all my heart, more and more every day. I'm beyond excited to spend the rest of my life with him.
So yup. That would be the two major players of this blog. There are plenty of pictures of my nieces and nephews. In fact, I'll be posting pictures of my littlest nephew, Garrett, tomorrow.
I'll just leave this post at this... I'll give an update on this past weekend tomorrow. Welcome to any new readers... Great to have you!
much love,
alex
